In our research and writing for the cover story on homebrewing engaged in by an
amazingnumber of thePlenco family, it dawnedonus that thereare similarities between
cooking resin and cookinghomebrewedbeer!
To check out the idea, we talkedwith
Peter Madden
(Engineering) and
TomBadura
(Engineering) who are both deeply interested in homebrewing, and we checked in with
Howie Rohde
(Resin), who supervises resin production, and
Julie Brunner
(Resin
QualityAssurance).
Petermadesome interestingobservations: “Stainlesssteel kettles, preciselymeasured
ingredients, controlled timing, and chemical reactions support the same process.”
Peter said, “Homebrewing appeals to precision, and that’s no doubt why employees in
engineering and other precision jobs at Plenco seem drawn to it.”
I wouldadd that the commondenominator inbothhomebrewingand resin cooking isa
quest formaking things better. That has always been thePlencomission.
It comes through loudly and clearly in Howie and Julie’s comments in the Resin
Department story. “It’s thequality of Plencopeople that hasmade thedifferenceovermy
45 years at the company,” Howie said. “Producing a quality product consistently is our
mission,” Julie added. “Things are constantly changing for the better, which I like.”
A few weeks ago, I saw a television commercial by Boeing, the historic American
aviation pioneer. “Boeing…passion for innovation…making things better” was their
message.
That is thePlencospirit aswell. And that iswhatAmericansareall about.Wecansolve

destroying ISIS terrorists, ending political discord that’s rampant in Washington, DC,
determiningasound future for theU.S. economy, makingauniquePlenco thermoset resin
or producinga superb home brew!
We cannot thank you enough, as a member of the Plenco family, for your steadfast
commitment to “making things better” at Plenco.
